I do not know who invented the idea of what in my childhood, we called the
"literary trial", which is what Edgar writes about the children at the
summer-camp in Vijenca doing.
This was a very popular children's or teenager's game.
A well known personality who's deeds were in moral dispute, would be brought
to trial. For instance Shabtai Tzvi. One child would role play the accused,
another was the prosecutor, another the defense, one the judge and a few the
jury. It allowed children to debate justice and morals, learn history and
role play.
