Some posts point out that in some houses Yiddish was shunned.
There was an aversion towards the old language.
It was a virtue to have a Yiddish- free house and entourage.
Nannys were tested for their German aptitudes.
No Yiddish sounds to reach the babys ears , G-d forbid..
Assimilation at its best.
It didn't do much good.
