The returns are in on the spelling of our dear mountain, and I have to thank and laud Czernowitzers who even in the autistic second Millennium are still as responsive as folks were in the civilized, pre-WW II days.
2 for “Cecina,” the German version (by Mimi and Peter)
1 “Tzezinau” (by Herbie)
1 “Tzetzina” (by Lucca)
And a final, official word from Lillian Madfes who forwarded a photograph of skiers next to a partly snow covered sign which showed the Romanian spelling, “ţeţina.”
There was snow covering the sign after the final “a” so it isn’t absolutely certain if there was a “u” after the “a” or not.
If anyone could find some public signage from the Austrian days then we would have it all official for both the Austrian and Romanian periods.
Thanks again.
