Andy, I think you expressed the shock that must similarly be felt by
all who come across the names of beloved relatives and friends on Yad
Vashem lists. Having only recently, through genealogy research,
learned that my father was one of 10 children, I was surprised at how
deeply sad I felt at finding some of their names on the lists of
those who had been in transports or who had perished in camps. I
never met them, never even knew about them til six years ago, but I
mourn their loss nonetheless every time I think of them and imagine
what they must have experienced. I am sorry for your loss, too, and
for the pain it is causing you.
