Dear Ilana and all Czernowitzers,
It is an old saying that "imitation is the most sincere form of flattery".
In the age of the internet, borrowing from one website to another, should be
considered in the same light. Many current inhabitant of Chernivtsi have a
sincere appreciation and interest in the history of the city. I think that
this video on UTUBE is put together quite well and gives an insight into
life in Czernowitz from the beginning of the 20th century till 1940.
Three of the photographs I gave to the "ehpes" website were also borrowed,
but I knew this might happen and do not find it objectionable.
The internet was set up for educational purposes and anyone may copy
material on it, as long as it is not for making a profit.
I hope and wish that many people will learn about Czernowitz as it was and
will want to preserve both the physical remains as well as the spirit of
that era.
