Dear friends...
Half a year after my trip to Transnistria and following a hint from Nardo Bonomi Braverman from Italy, I conducted additional researches related to the Ghetto of Moghilev-Podolsk. As a result of this, I just released two articles:
Edgar Hauster Blog: http://hauster.blogspot.com/2010/12/mohyliv-podilskyi-ghetto.html
Ehpes.com Blog: http://ehpes.com/blog1/2010/12/08/mohyliv-podilskyi-ghetto-three-clips/
Headed by Valery Dymshits, Doctor of Science in Chemistry and Director of Petersburg Judaica, field Studies of Shtetls were organized and conducted over years (2004 - 2008) in small towns of Ukraine (Tulchin, Balta, Moghilev-Podolsk, Bershad, Gaysin, etc.). The first results of this work are presented in the volume "Shtetl, 21th century: Field Studies". In addition, Petersburg Judaica released three video clips, which I embedded in the above mentioned postings.
VIEW FIRST THE VIDEO CLIPS, IN TOTAL LESS THAN SEVEN MINUTES! THEY PERHAPS WILL FREEZE THE BLOOD IN YOUR VEINS. THEN JUST IMAGINE, THAT THE ARCHIVE OF VALERY AND HIS RESEARCHER TEAM CONTAINS ABOUT 500 (IN WORDS: FIVE HUNDRED) HOURS OF MATERIAL FROM MOGHILEV-PODOLSK!
That's an unique and outstanding performance and I'm eagerly looking forward to more of this research and hopefully an English translation of the mentioned volume.
For additional information on Valery, his researcher team and the ongoing projects, please follow the links in the postings and/or read the J-weekly article: http://www.jweekly.com/article/full/33583/jewish-life-in-amber-in-ukraine-s-last-jewish-city/.
