There is no disagreement between us. We should definitely (and have in the
past) discuss travel options to CZ. What I thought was irrelevant to this
forum was El Al's level of service - for which they often do indeed deserve
to be spanked (so do some of their passengers).

One possibility that is worth checking is getting to CZ through Kiev. There
are flights to Kiev from various European cities (by European as well as
Ukrainian carriers) as well as direct flights from New York (by the
Ukrainian carrier Aerosvit which has a good safety record, flies Boeings and
whose service is no worse than most). From Kiev Aerosvit offers daily
flights to CZ on Saab turboprops belonging to their partner Dnieproavia.
It's a one and a half hour flight).

We flew with Aerosvit/Dnieproavia from Tel Aviv (on a brand new A-320). It's
a 3 hour flight. We then connected to the CZ flight

All went well - there and back.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the Vienna-Lvov high speed train.
