Simon...

In my eyes "Rechtssprecher" is the Austrian version for the German "Rechtspfleger", translated into English as judicial officer, officer of justice or law (enforcement) officer. They graduated at a "Fachhochschule", which is the equivalent to a University of Applied Sciences. The regular duration of study is three years, i. e. shorter than a normal university study path. "Rechtssprecher/Rechtspfleger" have their field of activity in law courts and prosecutor's offices. Their occupation is exclusively known in Austria and Germany.

Coming back to the occupations of my ancestors, I have got engineers (father, grandfather), a rabbi (great grandfather), (men's) tailors (great grandfather and others), post and railways officers (greatuncles), editors (great greatuncles), a stove setter (greatuncle), but even a pickpocket (second degree uncle).

Best wishes from the Netherlands!
