My Gheto Memorial .
The only sign of the Gheto now is the Ham plate.
Very small , the painted letters fading , unnoticed.
The Ghetto deserves more.
My Gheto memorial is a statue of a middle aged jew pushing a pram loaded
with house utensils , a wife carrying a big bag, and a girl with
a big doll followed by a dog.
On the piedestal I would write:
" October 11, 1941 -
Daddy where will we sleep tonight ?"
I would place it on the Ham ,Morariogasse or Steingasse ,
on the Ringplatz or Russischegasse - the trail into the Gheto.
