I very clearly remember my family's crossing of the border, but do not know,
if and how, my parents obtained papers proving that they were from the
southern Bukovina. During that period there was a whole industry of false
papers and because the Russian border-guards, did not know either Romanian
or German, my parents took with them a whole lot of documents, which clearly
indicated that they were NOT from the southern Bukovina.

>From what I know, many Czernowitzers who left Czernowitz in 1945, settled at
least for a period, in Bacau and Oradea Mare. Does anyone know, why "davka"
in these two towns?
