In 1944-45 we lived across the street from the park facing the Kulturpalast=
. If I remember correctly, there were pebbled walkways with benches and =A0=
grassy areas and flowers on the side hills. My brother, who was four years =
old at the time, used to play there.

In my opinion this square, called variously Rudolph Platz, Mehl Platz, Phil=
harmonia square and Piata Dacia, looks currently far better than it did
in 1944 - 45 when it was the location for selling and buying "Alte Schmatte=
s, alte Sachen". Certainly it does so during the day.
