Hi Hardy, you are too young, to know, how the Austrian regarded, not us,,
but our ancestors...they were equal to all cityzens of the austrian
provinces, with the same rights, officers in the army, not only in war, high
"Regierungsbeamte", university professors, poets, writers,even the
"Salons"etc...were conducted by famous Jewish women...in Vienna *by
Arnstein, and in the beginnihg of 19oo also by Marie Mautner-Kalbeck and
in Berlin too*Rachel Varnhagen, Mendelsohn etc,,.so what? Have you read the
book of Edgar Hilsenrath:
"Die Abenteuer des Ruben Jablonski".in which he described his staying in
Czernowitz in 1945 and described his garndfather's inn in Sadagura, with the
visite of Kaiser Franz Joseph, who ate a herring with onion and drunks some
"Schnaps"...The Kaiser asked him what he must pay, the grandy answered "the
equal rights, not only for me, but for all Jews...so the Kaiser agreed .and
so all Jews got the rights.....what came after 1918?
Vaida did not agree to give the same rights for Jews, like they had in
Austria, nor for his Jews in the "Regat" There were commission in Geneva,
who faught for our rights...
