Some weeks ago, Hardy sent us a copy of a drawing dated 4, January 1942, on
which is written in Romanian: Intellectual from Cernauti, 36 years old, died
of hunger and cold on the road Moghilev - Scazinet.
The signature looks as if it is: E Schäfler
I want to send this drawing to the director of the Jewish museum in
Czernowitz, to be included among the exhibits.
I would like to identify both the subject and the artist more clearly.
Among the members of this list, there are people named Landmann,
or those who have relatives by this name. Can any of you identify more
closely this man by the name of Landmann, who was an intellectual and was
born in 1905 - 1906?
Also, if any of you have the time and knowledge, could check the archives at
Yad-Vashem to see whether you can find more information?
With advance thanks,
Mimi
