The cemetery in Vashkivtsi, was totally overgrown and inaccessible
when I first visited in May, exactly one year ago.

Thanks to the support and effort of our family members, and the
Ukrainian team that helped us clear the cemetery in October,

it is now a tour bus stop between Czernowitz and Wiznitz for visitors
exploring Ukraine's Jewish past:

see day 8 of the Jewish Heritage Tour itinerary @
http://www.kolostours.com/index.php?itinerary-jewish-heritage-in-ukraine%2C42.

Our work in the cemetery was a very moving experience.

We are pleased that this landmark is again "on the map" and would
encourage others to consider undertaking similar projects in the
Bukovina.
