I lived 7 yaers, , once upon the time, in a roumanian village in the oil
fields, sorrounded by vineyards, there were only the physician of the
Dutch-Shell-Cny 2 hours dayly and the midwife(Hebamme) what could I do
with two little children, when something occured...I called an old peasant
women and she brought some coals, ignited them, than put cold water on them
and spoke some words...bad eye, go from where you came.three times....from
the cooled water in the container she took some drops with her finger put
one drop on the childs forehead, one on the lip, one the left
brest(heard)..in roumanian language they call it: descantec....and than the
child was o.k.
I remember thet my grandmother did it in the same way, in german....and she
came from Leipzig
And apropo bad eye...I had a neighbour here in Haifa and when I met her, in
the bus, or elsewhere, something occured to me, or to my husband...once we
met in the bus, she told to my husband, oh you are looking wonderful, when
we left the bus he fall and broke his shoulder, the next time, after my
meeting with her,you are looking wonderfull, I fall in the street
hurting badly my knie...In the same year we went to Dusseldorf, to a friend
and I told her what hapened,,,oh,she exclaimed, I know her from Roumania,
avoid her, she has a bed eye...,
