Miriam..have not heard of this, but my mother had a theory that if something
was misplaced or lost then if a glass was put upside down under a table the
missing item would re-appear.I am not exactly convinced of her theory...but
we always knew where to find glasses!! Cornel

Anyone heard of the habit of turning over a plate when trying to locate a
lost object?
Or the dropping of a little molten lead into a bowl of cold water so that
the resulting shapes would foretell future events or fortunes?
