Unfortunately "Jedes Land hat nicht die Juden die es verdient".

Chernivtsi (formerly Czernowitz,) definitely does not have
the Jews it deserves. I could say about many countries and cities,
that they had Jews, which were much better than they deserved,
but about current Chernivtsi, I am inclined to say that most of its
Jews,
are far below what its history and tradition deserve.
