After leaving Cz. We lived in Bucarest for about 4 years, three of them in
the Vanatori str. (near the Dumbovitza) I hope I write it correct. We left
in 1950 to Israel. My first visit in Bucarest till then was in 2004. I went
to look for my "home" there. The picture I meet was very similar to Hardy's
pic of the Franzosgasse. Asher Turtel

looking now a house in the Franzosgasse?? The famous jewish writer Karl Emil

Franzos (1848-19o4), who wrote "Halbasien" (Half-Asia),about Czernowitz
too, "The Jews of Baranov" and the "Pojaz "(Clown), wrote in one of his
books "Jedes Land hat die Juden, die es verdient {Every country has the Jews

it deserves)"...
he will turn in his tomb in Berlin, if he would see the houses in the
street, which had once, his name...
