Yes Sasha, it undoubtedly would,

 But what makes Cz jewish cemetery elegible ?

   For us it is the Mecca of all cemeteries.

     Our people lie there.

       But otherwise there in nothing exceptional in it.

Obtaining some official 'historic monument' status for the cemetery from
some international organization would probably help City Hall see the
advantages of a correctly maintained cemetery.

When we were in Czernowitz in April this year Karolina Koziura( who is very
involved with the study of Jewish Czernowitz history )suggested that
getting a UNESCO monument status is not impossible.

Maybe we should try to work in this direction?
