Dear List, Yossi, Irene, Anni, Ina,
Also I (with my stick...)attended the ceremonial meeting in the Tel-Aviv
Museum. Yochanan Ron (Singer) arranged it all, and I hope that I get your
agreement to thank him for the hard work he has put in, and tell him that he
can be very pleased with himself. (By the way - Yochanan is my second
cousin..) Yochanan thought that he will not have a full house (520 seats) -
and there were 100 more people, who sat on all the stairs!
MY deepest thanks also to Jerome and Noemi for the lists of the deportees.
My grandparents, Josef Mordko (Mordechai) and Hendel Helene Rosner were
among them, but I dould not find them on the lists. The only information
that we have about their fate, is the fact that they had been deported to
Transnistria to the "other side of the river Bug", which was under German
rule.
Could anyone tell me how I can obtain more details concerning their fate?
I allow myself to draw your attention to my father's story about Jewish life
in the villages Bukowina. You can find it at our website, under "Stories &
Histories, No. 16. I am sure that some of you already read it.
Chag Sameach, Miriam Israel
