Some members of the list have asked me about this year's work-camps
at the cemetery in Chernivtsi. Please excuse me for not answering each
of you individually.

ASF Germany will hold a work-camp at the cemetery (this is the fourth
year they are having one), from July 1st till July 12th. If any of you would
like to participate in this work-camp, information is available in the
German language only on:
https://www.asf-ev.de/de/friedensdienste/sommerlager/programm/ukraine/czernowitz.html

If any of you want me to translate the information into English, please
write me. If you like, I will also send you information and photographs
taken at some of the previous work-camps.

SVIT Ukraine has so far not announced the date of its work-camp,
but they too will have one, this one for the fifth year.

Having had the opportunity to meet the volunteers who participated in some
of the previous work-camps, I can vouch for the following:
The volunteers are nice, intelligent and interesting people.
Most speak English fluently.
The work at the cemetery varies from the quite easy to the quite exerting.
You can choose the kind of work you do.
The tombstones and the inscriptions on them are beautiful, interesting
and touching.
You will have to pay and arrange for your trip by yourself.
Accommodation will be provided in a dormitory setting.
Most ,or all Meals will be provided, but you may be expected to do
some cooking.
There probably will be some excursions to nearby interesting sites.

Mimi
