I do not know how many current inhabitants of Czernowitz
visit the room in city hall where the portraits of the mayors hang.
The memorial plaque, put up in 2009 is certainly in a very public
location and is certainly seen by many. I hope people read it and
are influenced by what is written on it.
Not only was my life changed by the corageous and humanitarian
actions of Popovici, most probably, had it not been for him,
I would have died in Transnistria, like many of my relatives.
Excuse for preaching, but as they say in Hebrew:
"Eyn davar ha-omed bifney ha-ratzon!"
