Born in1931 in Czernowitz. My parents were born in Czernowitz and grand parents are hurried in the cemetery in Czernowitz. My father had cousins in Novo Sulitza and I suspect the family could have come from Besarabia.Mother's family was from the Bukovina, at least, since the early 19th century and, I believe, might have come from Solca ( southern bucovina).
We spoke German at home. I knew Ukrainian from the market place and 3 plus years in Transnistria; Russian from the Soviet occupation in 1940/41 and again, 1944/45.I speak Fench and Spanish. I knew, but mostly forgot Rumanian and Yiddish.
By the way, the Tram we called the " electrische ".I went to school at Scoala de baiesti No.11
And lived in the Dreifaltigster Gasse, I think.
I am a retired radiologist living in Dayton, Ohio
