 We know that our Joseph Schmidt was jewish .
  The plate does not say so.
   It should have- loud and clear,
  For the incidental visitor and "ueberhaupt".
    In Czernowitz the Tempel plate says Schmidt was
    a Bukovinean singer - but this is Vienna !
