A far as I know, the policeman said this to the Jews who stood in the
Postgasse near the Stock Exchange. Those Jews were not members of the
Exchange, but stood outside in the street, looking for business
outside of the Exchange, and that was also later, in my time the
"black market" of foreign exchange, activated by Jews. My family had a
big store on Postgasse 7, just across from the Main Post Office, and
when a razzia came to search for foreign currencies, dollars etc, some
of those people, who were befriended in one way or another with my
family or our employees came and hid their foreign currecy in our
staorage places. They came in also in winter to warm themselves up,
since they stood outside the Stock Exchange also in the real cold
winter days.
