I thought Stollen was a cake....eating horseshoe nails is not conducive to

Potcoave is Rumanian for horseshoes- Hufeisen in German.
Potcovar is the blacksmith,
 Probably also in Cz. local Ruthenian as Pitkove,
 From here the way to Yiddish is very short.
  We used to play a game with broken -off horseshoe nails,
   we called it Stollen( german for horseshoe nails).
