I still do not follow...the only non-Russian is the front-row chap who is
wearing an Austrian field cap,so maybe Prof. Hirdman,s relative fought for

dramatically described by my grandmother - I don´t know anything about any
support though, Edgar must have missunderstood me on that point best

Of course, Yvonne and Cornel, both of you are right, that are Russian
soldiers on that photo and in fact, Yvonne, I have misunderstood your
preliminary posting. Sorry for confusion!

The photos raised a huge number of - without exception - positive comments,
as they are real treasures; once again thank you so much Yvonne. As far as I
understand (GoogleTranslate) alexgrein's last comment on the first photo
(23.11.2012 10:52:09 Local), at least this one is dated 15.03.1917.
