1. Benzion Katz, the religious leader of the orthodox Czernowitz Jewish community, deceased in Vienna at the age of 47 years.

2. Jakob Kahane, who continued in the post for more than 20 years, even during WW1, deceased and many prominent members of the Jewish community attended the funeral:
