Hi Edgar,
Many thanks for your prompt response!
This may be it, although the dates do not work. My grandfather, Josef
Bruno Glaser, was born in 1894 and emigrated to the US in 1908. He told me
he was raised by his grandfather, Josef. The Joseph referred to in the
obituary would have been 19 years old in 1894, so he would have been too
young to be a grandfather himself in 1984. Of course, this Josef may have
been my grandfather's father. I have no way of knowing at this point, but
I will keep hunting. Perhaps the letters I found may offer some clues.
Best wishes for a happy new year!
Jay
