Dear Marion,
I too read Mircea Streinul's excerpt on the - so-called - "Occupation of Czernowitz", which in fact is, as Gerhard mentioned, nothing but a blood and honor propaganda resulting from (Greater) Romanian dreams. Gerhard is completely right, this kind of ultra nationalist and anti-semite propaganda was quite typical for this period of time, not only in Romania.
I have no evidence on Mircea Streinul's - official - role within the legionary movement, but it's obvious, that he definitely was/is monopolized by the ultra-right-wing until today. Google's first result for "Mircea Streinul" is a link to "miscarea.net" [The {Legionary} Movement], the website of "Nationalist Romania" and "Center for Legionary Documentation"; a huge number of similar links follow.
Nevertheless, dear Marion, thank you very much for drawing our attention to this paragraph, which is in fact an interesting contemporary document.
