Dear David,

We don't know each other but as a fellow second generation participant of
this list I wanted to welcome you! It always amazes me how similar all of
our feelings are as the children of the "original" Czernowitzers. Your
experience is proof of how meaningful and important it is for us to carry
on and preserve our roots for future generations.

You are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to return to Czernowitz
with your father. They must be such treasured memories for you. I went in
2009 with my sister, husband and nephew, but Mom was too old to make the
trip. If not for this list, we could have never done it so successfully.

I am sorry for your loss.
