Before we discus the subject of Alexander Scherbatyuk's religious
affiliation any further,
I would like to stress, that no matter what various sources say about
this,
there are two different types of Christian - Jewish or Jewish-
Christian sects.
The one type is of Christians who want to observe certain Jewish
religious laws
and consider the old testament and even the Talmud to be their
spiritual guides.
They are or were called "Judoizing Christians" and thet have been in
existence
in Czernowitz and the region for a long time.
The other type of sects or sect are the Messianic Jews.
They believe in Judaism and also in the divinity of Jesus.
These sects are relatively new, did not originate in the Bukovina,
nor have gained a foothold there.
