Thank you Bruce for doing the research. I think that this theory is
quite believable.
Most Bukovina Jews came from Galicia and generally speaking,
European Jews often adopted the name of the town from which they came.
The variation of the name "Resch rather than "Reisch" may be due to
the fact,
that in the late 19th and early 20th century many Jews knew only
Yiddish,
and did not know how to spell their name in German.
