There's nothing so sweet as the love of my Baba. By the way, she spoke Yiddish, Polish, and German. She learned English very quickly. But showered the grandchildren with her unique warmth that you always felt special. She'd forget sometimes that I was a grandchild and spoke to me in Yiddish. While I didn't speak it, I always understood what she was saying. I feel blessed that I had Baba lyb.

Mimi , with me it was "Babe lushen"
as I was raised by Babe , my mother's mother.
She knew only Yiddish and Goyish for commercial
transactions.
But she was the family specialist in
raising children.
Of the 10 babies she had only 3 survived.
Big specialist !
