Hi Elaine,

I tried to located Dereluy and the best I could do was to find the
“Derelui” River just outside and south of the current Chernivtsi city
limits. Take a look at this map:
<https://goo.gl/maps/3C3nU>
Between Voloka and Molodiya is the Derelui River. If you zoom in further,
the name of the river will appear on the map. The light red area at the
top of the map is the southern portion of Chernivtsi. You can grab the map
and pull it down to see more of the city.

Sniatyn is in Galicia and so far there are no records posted for Sniatyn
in either the JRI-Poland or the Gesher Galicia databases. Projects to
work on Sniatyn records are on hold pending some relatively small
contributions needed to carry out the work.

It’s possible that some of the records you seek would be found in the
online Czernowitz vital records database
<http://microtarget.com/czernowitz/CzernowitzBMDindex.htm> or in the
JewishGen Online Burial Registry, which includes over 20,000 burials in
the Czernowitz Jewish Cemetery. There are also numerous address
directories of the area for different periods, extracted by Edgar Hauster
and Martina.

Some of these databases can be accessed via links from the Genealogy
Resources page:
http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/sadgura/reischtoronto.html

If you have a jpg image of your family tree and wish to share it with the
group, perhaps it will stimulate memories of your family and further
suggestions. Send it directly to me and I’ll post it to our blog.
(Attached files can not be sent directly to the list.)

Good luck to you, Elaine!

Bruce
