Acacia was used for the construction of the tabernacle of the holy shrine
in the Jerusalem Temple long before America was invented !
Why did they have to import it if Europe is full of Acacia ?

Acacias, imported from north America, were planted all over Czernowitz, Now
we reap the results of this folly. This is a very invasive tree species, it
produces seeds by the thousands, new shoots come up from its roots, it has
very sharp thorns and the stumps of cut trees decay very slowly.
Not every plant which smells good is worth planting.
