Let's clarify the figures based on the Census of Romania for the Year 1930 with respect to the Cernauti (Czernowitz) Department:

The total population of the Cernauti (Czernowitz) Department - i. e. URBAN AND RURAL POPULATION - totals to 306,194, out of which
131,429 to be numbered to the urban population (Czernowitz, Cosmeni, Sadagura, Zastavna)
174,765 to be numbered to the rural population (rest of Bukovina)
Coming back to the urban population, the total population of the municipality of Cernauti (Czernowitz) totals to 112,427, out of which
42,592 (= 37.90 %) were Jewish,
32,731 (= 29.10 %) declared Yiddish as mother tongue,
42,932 (= 38,20 %) declared Mozaic religion.
