The Acacia trees so many remember from Czernowitz,
still thrives both in the city and in the countryside.
Unfortunately it also thrives in the Jewish cemetery.
This is not the same type of tree as mentioned in the Bible,
from which the ark was built.
The only thing these two types of trees have in common,
is that they have thorns. The name "acacia" is derived
from the ancient Greek word for thorn, Hebrew "kotz".
