Hi Marilyn,

I just read your post. My grandmother's maiden name was Regina Goldenberg
and came to the US after WWII. But she came as Regina Gedaly. My great
grandfather's name was Benjamin Goldenberg. He and his wife Anna are buried
in the cemetary in Czernowitz. This is the first time I've ever heard
anyone mention the family name Goldenberg. The Benjamin Goldenberg family
came to the states around 1920.

When I was there in 2009 I was able to obtain birth certificates of my
mother and grandmother. All birth certificates had the names and signatures
of witnesses on both sides. Since it was Austro Hungary at the time
everything is in German. I will check closely to see if there are any
overlapping names that you refer to.

But who knows, who could be related. I know much about my mother's father's
family the Gedalys. But I know very little about the Goldenbergs.

Who knows and welcome to the list.

Ilana Gordon
