My Turner (spelled a variety of ways such as Terner, Tourneuer, Tarnur)
line put my ancestors in Ukraine, Bessarabia and Poland. Some believe
that the name was originally chosen by residents near the city of Tarnow,
an area ruled by Count Tarnowski.

The name Terner occurs in my family as well.
My maternal grandmother had a sister who was married to a man by the name
of Terner.
This sister was probably born around 1890 and the couple lived in
Waschkautz,
Currently named Vashkivtci.
Their granddaughter may still be living in Israel.
