Oh ,no, dear Edgar , you did not exaggerate. This is an amazing tool !
I spent last night many hours 'playing' with it .
In 1.5 seconds about 1500 search items , which I could reduce in seconds to
10, thanks to the excellent filtering options.
The very first "hit" to the "Wolf Ehrenkranz" search was a surprise . I
did not believe that I will find something about my once famous , now
forgotten ancestor. Here is the article written in November1917 in Vienna :
"Aus dem Leben eines juedischen Volksdichters" ( " The Life of a Jewish
Folks - Poet"):

Congratulations to your "Mechel Fleischer" successful search . In 1858 (!)
he was already an important personality in Czernowitz. You have deep roots =
!
Many thanks and Happy Holidays ,
Irene

Czernowitzers...
Did I exaggerate, when I stated in my yesterday's post that the ANNO
Full-Text-Search is a unique research tool?

No, I didn't, but decide by yourself. This is the obituary for my
great-grandfather Mechel (Michael) Fleischer, deceased on October 16, 1908
in Czernowitz, subsequently to a diabetic coma.

He was the co-founder of the Men’s Tailor Store Binderer & Fleischer as
early as 1858. In 1881 Mechel became sole owner of the well-established
business on Herrengasse; his customers came mainly from the middle class an=
d
the civil service. Mechel’s colleagues from the Tailor’s Association ca=
rried
him to his grave while his family was in mourning for him, i. e. his wife
[Fanny Fleischer, née Ehrlich], his son [Emil Fleischer, Deputy Station
Master in Czernowitz] and his two daughters, the first one [Gusta Bardach]
married to the postmaster Bardach in Stanislau and the other one [Marjem
Hauster, my grandmother] married to the engineer Hauslich [correct, Elias
Hauster, my grandfather] in Czernowitz.
Any further hints to the Men's Tailor Store Binderer & Fleischer on
Herrengasse? However, by researching ANNO, I meanwhile know more about my
great-grandfather than my late father knew about his grandfather.
