Contrary to Hardy’s opinion, Yiddish is alive and well here in the USA. There is a renaissance of this unique and rich language, and it is being taught in many universities. There is a Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Mass.where millions of books have found their home, and where Yiddish seminars and lectures are taking place.

The assimilated and snobs in Czernowitz, associated Yiddish with the lower classes and uneducated Jews. So much for prejudice…

For those of you, who have not yet buried the language, I have some good news. Please look up in Amazon the book by Curt Leviant: ELIEZER SHTAYNBARG; THE JEWISH BOOK OF FABLES,where you will find the original fable in Yiddish and the translated version in English.

I hope you will enjoy this book.

Best regards,
