Yiddish everywhere!
Although ours was a German speaking household, I loved speaking Yiddish
to my dear grandma, "Oime". It was good practice for the Yiddish school I
attended during Soviet occupation.
More recently, I was asked to rehearse the Yiddish phrases in the play
"Tuesdays with Morrie" with the actor who was playing Morrie and who did
a great job.
