Hello Yohanan, and Cz friends
The man on the ground in your photo is Avram Kaplan who died many years ago and was the leader of the Jewish Community in Mogelov. He was a special man in many ways and I will never forget how he cried with my late husband Rudy when they 'reminisced' about Scazanitz? I was there in October for my annual visit and met the new leader (a woman), hosted a dinner for the congregation and brought donated funds from my family to pay looming heating bills. I have a short video I took and some photos too. If you email me I can send them to you or to others. Don't know if I can post them here?
If you go to my website you will see opportunity to download parts of my book for free: THE FORGOTTEN FEW. It has some photos you might want to see. (I am in the process of downloading the entire book and will put it on my website for free when it is done. Will let the group know when this happens.)
I am sorry to ask, but does anyone know why is Mr. Kaplan on the ground like that?
Keep in touch
Shalom

In 2000 my aunt and cousins visited my MUNSTER home village of Nepolokivtsi
in Ukraine,
visited places where my aunt used to live and study in Czernowitz,
and followed the family deportation route to Transniestria.
In the Mogilev - Podolsk Jewish cemetery they were helped by two of the
leaders of the local Jewish community
and found the grave of my grandfather Avraham Yitzhak MUNSTER who perished
in Mogilev on 15/3/1942.
They used the "Druker Map" to locate the grave (and gave my aunt a copy of
the map).
I posted a photo of those two men in the Mogilev cemetery, and I wonder if
any of you can identify them;
one of them should be Yos'l SOVEL (SOBOL?) who happened to be my aunt's
friend from Nepolokivtsi.
