Thanks, Mimi - I will search for =E2=80=9CChayes=E2=80=9D going forward, =
might help. The grandmother=E2=80=99s maiden name was Gross, and I=E2=80=99=
ve found her and her father=E2=80=99s graves online. =E2=80=9CWalt=E2=80=9D=
is not a common Jewish name and we don=E2=80=99t really know much about =
the circumstances of the name change. =20

My husband=E2=80=99s father never discussed anything about his early =
life with his sons. It was only late in life, on a visit to Canada from =
Israel, that he revealed he had a cousin. My husband was shocked as =
he=E2=80=99d never heard of any relatives who survived. Then we got a =
list of some of the family members and found out who had survived and =
who had been in Transnistria. But not much more, so, I keep searching.

I find the discussion so interesting and would love to visit there =
someday - Peggy
