Dear Edgar, Arthur, Berti,Amy, Anita and Julian,
Wow, I am so grateful for the outpouring of help from each of you in my quest to find my great-grandfather, Bednerski’s home! You have provided me with great early maps and informative links to study to see if I can actually find the home(s) that his family inhabited during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s in Czernowitz! And, with Berti and Edgar’s last emails to me, I may now be able to pinpoint the house in question and I will perhaps for discovering that this house was actually in the Klokuczka section and not the Horecza section as recorded mistakenly on the database that I originally found the information on. This ‘Klokuczka’ address actually coincides with the name which is found on both of my grandmother’s and great-aunt’s birth/baptismal certificates of 1901 and 1906 (Klokuczka 434 and Klokuczka 447). The latter address is the last recorded one that I have for them before they all moved to Canada by 1923.
