Dear Deborah,

in order to locate a particular Czernowitz house number / plot in the 19th century. I'm pretty sure that I've located "your" house no. 436 in Horecza and I've uploaded the result to our Ehpes Blog:

http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=10397

The red arrow on the cadastral map points straight to house no. 436 while the arrow on GoogleMaps is an approximation.

Enjoy and "good hunting"!

Subject: [Cz-L] In need of help re finding 1898 Czernowitz house location

Czernowitzers….

After researching under Edgar Hauster’s record details on the Czernowitz database for the Census for 1898 for my ancestor Ferdinand Bednerski, I discovered his house number 436 and quarter where it was located; Horecza. I need help to discover where that would be found in modern day Czernowitz. If anyone can tell me how to find out this information I would greatly appreciate it!

Many thanks to those who read this posting!
