Subject: (Austria) Gen-Team Adds New Collections to Their Website

GenTeam, https://www.genteam.eu/ has added 750,000 new records to
their databases on their website. While most of the new databases are
not relative to Jewish records, such as Vienna Catholic baptisms,
marriages and registers and Passau (Germany) dioceses, the Military
Casualty lists of 1914-1919 in Austria-Hungary do include Jews. I
checked with my family names, such as Meisels, Liebermann and other
Austrian and Galician Jewish names, and they all had hits. The time
period covered includes Galicia. For this collection, one will find
wounded, prisoners of war, the fallen from all member countries of the
Habsburg Monarchy, for a total of 3-3.5 million entries from all religions.
The soldiers include officers, and one-year volunteers.

To access the database you need to register with a username and
password. The site is free.

When you look at the collections, the new one is under military. However,
there are over 18.2 million entries online and some of the collections are
specifically Jewish, such as Jewish Resignations, Jewish Community,
Jewish Cemeteries and more. Some of the collections are not
religious-specific and include Jews, including the military records.
