Congratulations, Gabriele and Eduard, on the success of your daughter! It's really nice to have relatives and ancestors who have had distinguished lives, but it's an especially proud time to have a daughter meeting with such success.

To facilitate updates to the list, please remember to send your information to Jerome at <admin_at_ehpes.com> and especially note the following from our webmeister:
"If you're suggesting an addition to Notable Czernowitzers you need to provide all the information you wish to appear -- just the name won't do it, that just puts the load on me to figure things out. -- thanks from Jerome"
Your suggestions are so important to making this listing even more valuable. It's so impressive to learn about the accomplishments of this group of distinguished Czernowitzers.
Warmest wishes,
Bruce

Entirely agree with Marion Tauschwitz's suggestions. And of course, not
to forget,Hedwig Brenner. And famous actress Lya Koenig who was not born
in Czernowitz but married a Czernowitzer, there was no escape. Lya is
still considered as one of the great actresses in Israel, and all-round
talent playing in Jiddish and Hebrew, and all Czernowitzers who live
there simply adore her, and of course, the Israeli public.
And how about second and third generation who have "made it good", i. e.
some acknowledgement in the world? Besides Mila Kunis (she was actually
born in Czernowitz but left very early). Thinking of my daughter, a
classical singer who in December made it to the front-page of the German
opera magazine "Das Opernglas" as well as an interview, alas, in German.
I could post it however.
