Betreff: Aw: [Cz-L] Popovici and the ghetto release
Dear Rick,
In March 2012 „The Traian Popovici Discussion“ at our Ehpes Blog
http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=4342
took an important role and was one of the most lively debates on Ehpes ever. All started with my publication of the „Final Report of the Board of Inquiry Investigating the Irregularities Occurred on the Occasion of the Evacuation of the Czernowitz Jews in 1941“. With this investigation the Ion Antonescu regime tried to charge Traian Popovici of corruption. They didn‘t succeed, but the report, a unique contemporary document, gives us a deep insight into the establishment and the way of functioning of the Czernowitz Ghetto, displaying many example cases and names.
At that particular time, i. e. in 2012, we just had the original Romanian paper. Keeping in mind the significance of this document, I ordered its English translation, which will become available soon. I‘ve got it already, but I still have to cross-check it with the Romanian original. Well, perhaps as you know, I‘m currently touring by motorcycle through Eastern Europe. I‘m scheduled to return sometimes mid/end of September and I‘ll do my best to conclude this publication by the end of the year. I‘m positive that you‘ll find answers to most of your Czernowitz Ghetto related questions in this paper.
Warmest wishes from Eastern Europe!
